- Southern pedestrian entrance: Pedestrian entrance on the southern side.
- South-eastern pedestrian entrance: Pedestrian and bicycle entrance on the eastern side.
- Central eastern pedestrian entrance: Pedestrian and bicycle entrance on the eastern side near the ceremonial hall.
- North-eastern pedestrian entrance: Pedestrian and bicycle entrance in the north-eastern section.
- Ceremonial hall: Building centre of the ceremonial hall completed in 1960.
- Italian military cemetery: Area centre of the distinct memorial section within Westhausen Cemetery.
- Car park by the northern boundary: Area centre of the free public surface car park.
- Friedhof Westhausen underground station: U7 stop east of the cemetery.
- Theodor-Fischer-Weg bus stop: Stop for bus route 60 north of the cemetery.
Adapt the route
There is no need to visit all four entrances in sequence. From the U7, start at the central eastern entrance near the ceremonial hall, take in the 1960 architecture and then approach the Italian military cemetery respectfully. From the northern car park or bus stop, the same sequence can be followed in reverse.
The memorial section containing 4,788 war dead is not a walk-through attraction. Keep to the paths, compare the Roman-numbered and lettered sections with the official cemetery plan, and return through the exit that suits your transport.
Step-free planning
Path surfaces, gradients and temporary closures vary. If mobility is limited, choose the suitable entrance first and ask the administration about the best current route.
