Understanding the options
Westhausen offers an unusually broad progression from individually designed family graves and sequentially allocated row graves to lower-maintenance lawn and horticulturally maintained options. Urn graves in the memorial grove add another model. The practical decision is therefore not only earth burial or cremation, but also who maintains the plot and how much individual design is intended.
The Italian military cemetery is physically part of the wider grounds but is not a grave type available for selection. Do not confuse this historic memorial section with the municipal memorial-grove, lawn or maintained grave options.
